“All God’s Children” – is a song simply about love for one’s children. As a parent, I am often struck by the love we have for our children. How deep and profound it is. So much so that it helps us re-evaluate our own relationship with our own parents and be more forgiving. As a life enabling thing, parenthood is profound – it gives insights into every avenue of one’s life.

The song nods toward the political with references both to Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and the current, lamentable situation in Gaza. There are many things I find inexplicable in war, but the sheer disregard for the welfare of children chief amongst them. Surely basic empathy would prevent even the thought of it?
